CURRENT TEACHING SERIES

Healthy Household

We believe that Jesus is God who came to earth, who died and rose again to reconcile us all to God – and because Jesus is God, it’s worth listening to what he says about how to live. In this series we’re going to think practically about what following him looks like in different key areas of life. We’ve called this series ‘Healthy household’ because the church is a family – God’s people, each bringing their own gifts to support one another and work out what following and building our habits around Jesus looks like together.

We’ll be sharing takeaway sessions for each week to download at maybridge.org.uk/takeaways.

GROUP CHECKPOINT

Growing Together

We’ve created this group session to help everyone in your Partnership Group discuss the goals for groups at Maybridge and check-in with how your group is doing to answer the questions: What should we keep doing? What could we start doing? What should we stop doing?

We suggest all groups find the time to work through the checkpoint session together before Easter – around the halfway point in our annual cycle for groups.

The Biscuit Trail

Many of us would like to see our colleagues and friends know and follow Jesus, but are unsure how to help them on their journey. These sets of cards help groups prepare, discuss and pray through the different elements involved in helping someone discover Jesus. Available from the church library.

Follow: Walk like Jesus

What does it look like to be a follower of Jesus? This course from Jubilee+ helps groups grow in their walk with God and become more like Jesus. Video talks, discussion questions, selected bible verses, prayer and action points to work through on your own or as a group. Printed course booklets are available from the church library and videos from their website.

Practicing the Way Course

Eight sessions of teaching, discussion and exercises that help us explore what it means to follow Jesus. John Mark and other voices teach on apprenticing under Jesus, Spiritual Formation, healing from sin, meeting God in pain, crafting a Rule of Life, living in community, and more... There's also a suite of nine courses that run for four sessions, each unpacking a different Spiritual Practice – Sabbath, Prayer, Fasting, Solitude...

The Lectio Course

A five session video series with Pete Greig and guests, exploring the ancient practice of Lectio Divina. The course helps to equip individuals and groups to grow in prayer, discern God’s voice and fall in love with the Bible. There's helpful discussion questions, making it a great resource for groups.

A beautiful, evocative, inspiring film series, which combines biblical reflection with stories from the persecuted church, to explore how lament can bring us hope and comfort, even in the darkest situations. Videos available online and discussion guide available from the church office.

Bible Book Club

Downloadable pdfs from The Bible Society with handy background information including tips, discussion questions and some hints for handling those tricky sections for each book of the Bible. Pick a book to read through as a group and unpack it together.

321 COURSE

321 is a course that helps explore the foundations of faith and discover life according to Jesus. There's four sessions including immersive videos with thoughtful illustrations, discussion and teaching from author and evangelist Glen Scrivener. The course is designed to help you think about life, the world and God so it great for groups with newer Christians or those wanting to revisit christian truths.

The Chosen – Season One

The Chosen is a ground-breaking historical drama based on the life of Jesus, seen through the eyes of those who knew him. We've created a guide to help groups watch an episode(or two), unpack a few bible passages relating to the episodes and discuss them.
